Bike / Foot

Hogacre Common Eco Park is about a mile South of the centre of Oxford City. It is reached via Abingdon Road, the main road leading into and out of Oxford from the South. From Central Oxford, starting at Carfax, head South down St Aldates with Oxford Town Hall and Christ Church College to the left. Continue straight on to Abingdon Road over the River Thames at Folly Bridge. 900 metres after Carfax, look out for The White House pub on your right and  turn right onto Whitehouse Road. 200 metres along Whitehouse Road, across the crossroads, look out for the gate on the left, between the nursery and the rec., signed to Hogacre Common Eco Park. 300 metres down this lane and over the railway footbridge is Hogacre Common.

Other walking routes to Hogacre Common exist, taking in the River Thames Towpath, Grandpont Nature Reserve or Boar’s Hill. Why not get out a good map and enjoy finding us? Hogacre Common Eco Park is also very close to National Cycle Network Route 5.

Train

Hogacre Common’s nearest train station is Oxford which is on the London Paddington – Birmingham New Street Rail line, allowing easy access from across the UK via London, Birmingham, Reading or Didcot. Buses serve Whitehouse Road for Hogacre Common Eco Park from bus stops directly in front of the station. Taxis can be picked up from here too. Hogacre can be reached by Foot / Bike from the train station by joining the above route via Oxpens Road or, with a good map, via West Oxford, Ferry Hinksey Road or the River Thames’ Towpath.

Bus

Hogacre Common’s nearest bus stop is the ‘Whitehouse Road’ stop on Abingdon Road. This stop is served from Oxford Train Station, bus stop R3 by Oxford Bus Company’s X3. From St Aldates in Oxford City Centre, bus stops H1 and H3 by Oxford Bus Company’s X3, X13 and 23. From Redbridge Park and Ride by Oxford Bus Company’s X3, X13 and 23. From Whitehouse Road, follow the Foot / Bike directions above. The Whitehouse Road bus stop is also served by services 16, 16A, 31, 32A , 34, 35, 44, X2, X32, X39 and X40 but please check with the bus company before travelling.

Car

We strongly advise against travelling directly to Hogacre Common Eco Park by car. Under normal circumstances Hogacre Common is not accessible by car and there is very limited on street parking nearby. Please use the cleaner and greener transport options above. A small number of time limited parking bays are available on Whitehouse Road and in Hinksey Park nearby. Redbridge Park and Ride is accessible by car from the North or South Via the A34, from the M40 via the A40 and Oxford Ring Road or from the M4 via the A34. At Redbridge Park and Ride, take the X3, X13 or 23 bus or continue on Foot / Bike to Whitehouse Road and follow the directions above from there.
